Production modernization and technical re-equipment in Sayanskkhimplast (Russia) are being performed, paying attention to ecological problems, first of all for reducing noxious emissions. On June, 1 the mercury electrolysis plant will be decommissioned and a membrane technology production will be put onstream in August. There are very strict conditions in Russia for companies having problems with environmental issues. So, all our reconstruction projects help to settle different ecological problems", - said Vasiliy Chebykin, deputy director of the company. "Till June, 1 we are going to stop the mercury electrolysis and the commissioning would been held during next two months. For this period we have some reserves of chlorine and the manufacturing process won't be stopped",-told Nickolay Melnik, the President of Sayanskkhimplast. As a result, the company will be able to provide itself with its own chlorine, to increase the output of PVC up to 400 thousand tones per year and to reduce the production costs.
