During 11 months of 2005 the production of basic chemicals in Russia increased by 1.7% in comparison with the index of January-November 2004. In particular, production of sulphuric acid increased by 2%, sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)– by 4.1%, synthetic ammonia – by 4.3%. In January-November 2004 production of mineral fertilizers (converting to 100% nutritive material) grew by 5.3% including nitrogen – 1.8% and potassium – 11.9% fertilizers. At the same time production of pharmaceutical products during reporting period reduced by 5.1%. Production of crop protection chemicals (pesticides) and other agrochemical products fell by 6.5%. Production of varnish and paint rose generally by 3.7%. Production of soap, detergents, cleansers and perfumes grew by 19.7%. Particularly production of colognes and fragrant increased by 9.4%, hair care products – by 36.1% and cleansers – by 19.8%. At the same time during 11 months of 2005 production of glycerin decreased by 6.2%, toilet soap – by 1.4%, cosmetics – by 9.5%. uring s n of pharmaseutical of January-November 2004.
