Stepan Company Plans to Increases Capacity of Polyester Resin in Columbus, Georgia, U.S.

Stepan Company is pleased to announce the capacity expansion of its Columbus, Georgia, U.S., facility. The expansion will add an additional 20% of polyester resin manufacturing output to the existing manufacturing capabilities, and will allow the company to continue to meet the growing market needs of the Coating, Adhesive, Sealant and Elastomer (C.A.S.E.) industries.

"This move reflects our commitment to supply the highest quality products with continued reliability and service,” says Sean Moriarty, Vice President and General Manager, Polymers. “Our Columbus site is an important part of Stepan's global manufacturing network that includes facilities in Germany, Poland and China, and this expansion will allow us to meet our growing customers' demands."

The company has operated a liquid and solid polyester resin facility in Columbus since the site was acquired from Bayer MaterialSciences in 2013. The acquisition was part of Stepan's strategic investment that enabled growth in the markets in which we participate. This expansion furthers that initial investment and allows us to continue to support our customers.
