MEROCO company will build a plant to produce bio-diesel fuel by the end of 2007 in Leopoldov in western Slovakia, said news.nabou agency on 18 September. The plant will have a daily capacity of 300 tonnes of bio-diesel (methylester vegetable oil), and an annual maximum of 100,000 tonnes. The production line will process 800 tonnes of colza (rapeseed) a day. The production process consists of two independent processes: the pressing of colza oil seeds, and the production of colza methylester or other vegetable oils. Meroco is a joint venture between Slovakia's dominant refinery, the Hungarian-owned Slovnaft, and the US-based Envien Group.
