The magazine "Kommersant-Dengi" has recently published its rating of 300 Major Russian Companies. JSC Uralkaly (Berezniki, Perm Territory) with a capitalisation of US$3,128.2 miilion is ranked in 26th position on the list, six points higher than a year ago. The company from Berezniki has the largest capitalisation of Russian chemical companies and those listed from the Perm Territory. This is the ninth annual rating of major Russian companies released by "Kommersant-Dengi". The key criterion is the capitalisation of a company – calculated by the total number of its shares multiplied by the market value per share, as quoted as of 30 June, 2006 on the RTS and MICEX. Along with the Top 300 rating, "Kommersant-Dengi" published additional ratings highlighting various aspects of companies' business. In the list of the Most Efficient Issuers, Uralkaly reached 11th position in 2006 compared to 14th in 2005. The list is based on companies' profitability based on the ratio of operational and net profits over the last reporting year. In terms of net and operational profits (36.87% and 49.65% respectively), Uralkaly is rated as the best company in the Russian chemical industry and amongst those in the Perm Territory. In the rating for the Highest Issuer Evaluation, which is based on the ratio of market capitalisation to sales over the past year, Uralkaly is ranked in 17th position, having moved up one point since the previous year. According to this index the Company has eclipsed all other Russian chemical companies coming on to the list.
