Italy's Freudenberg Politex Group is planning to open the first section of a plant to produce high strength polyester nonwoven fiber on September 12 in Zavolzhye, in Nizhny Novgorod region, the company said in a statement. The first section will produce 8,000-11,000 tonnes of polyester nonwoven fiber for roofing materials a year, Andrei Deko, general director of Freudenberg Politex Group. The plant is expected to reach full production capacity as soon as it is up and running. Total investment in building and launching to first section of the plant is about $15 million, Deko said. The amount of investment, production capacity and the timeframe for launching the second section is currently being studied, he said.
