Khimprom (Ukraine) announces start-up after a 4-month break

Khimprom plant  has started  operations after a 4-month break in Pervomajsk (Kharkov region, Ukraine), said the Objective media group. This year in May the plant shut down due to a UAH200m (USD41.5m) debt.

The newly appointed Khimprom administration intends to pay off the debts to employees and suppliers with  outward investments. However, the senior staff of the company considers impossible to raise investors' interest in the state-owned plant. So, they say it needs to be privatised first by the act of Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) excluding the enterprise from the special public register.

The first production run of chlorine, lime and PVC resin is expected to come in ten days.   Khimprom Director, Jurij Pasternak, assured the company already has customers for the production, however, he undisclosed the details. Part of the chlorine and lime will be sold at the domestic market, another part will be exported.
