Glasurit® paints now available in Moldova

Glasurit® brand automotive refinish products are now being marketed in the Republic of Moldova. The official importer is Mobilis-Com srl., an official Glasurit® partner selling the top-of-the-line BASF Coatings' products from its headquarters in the Moldovan capital city of Chisinau. With a population of approx. 4.5 million, the Republic of Moldova is situated between Ukraine and Romania.

"On the one hand, Moldova is quite a poor country, with most of the population living on agriculture," explain Veaceslav Poceciun, Glasurit® Sales Manager, and Androniac Anatolii, Managing Director of Mobilis-Com srl., describing the difficult business environment. "On the other hand, a new automotive market is catching on like wildfire in the population centers. The number of car dealers is growing, and in turn, sales of brand models from Europe are on the rise." These are ideal preconditions for positioning the Glasurit® brand. After all, "More cars on the roads mean that there is a greater need for high-quality paints, and as automotive refinish specialists, this is where we come in." Mobilis-Com srl. operates a modern and professional accident repair center in Chisinau. "At our center here, we sell and supply the Glasurit® brand to the bodyshops throughout the country and also market our technical know-how for perfect refinishing," says Poceciun.

While Moldova may have seemed to be a bit off the beaten path until recently, when it comes to Glasurit®, that's obviously a thing of the past. "Our products have sold briskly from the word 'go'", says the Sales Manager, adding, "BASF Coatings in Münster supported us the entire time, so that despite the fact that we're not exactly around the corner, we always felt we were part of the Glasurit® family."
