Navoiy industrial complex (Uzbekistan) expanding exports

Navoiy industrial complex increased an amount of exported goods in the first half-year 2006, said "Narodnoye Slovo" newspaper on August 9.

Navoiy region ( Uzbekistan) is the largest center of chemical, mining and metallurgical industries of Central Asia. In the first half of 2006 exports turnover of Navoiy region raised by 37% to equal USD376.8 with USD43.9m in the black.

Major export producers of the region are:

1) Navoiyazot (mineral fertilizers, synthetic fibers, sodium acetate, sodium cyanide, polyacrylamide, ammoniac water, thiourea);
2) Navoiy Metallurgic and Mining Plant ( gold and uranium mining; production of fluor-spar, building materials, marble, phosphorites, sulphuric acid,  machine-building and household applications);
3) Navoiy Elektrkimyozavodi CJSC (plant protection chemicals, superphosphate, contact insecticides);
4) Zarafshon-Newmont ( gold mining);
5) Bentonit (bentonitic powder).

The exported products are mainly chemicals, superphosphate, cement.
