Belarus gave up the idea of processing potato into ethanol

Belarus found it unprofitable to utilise  potato as biofuel for ethanol production, said recently Sergey Banadysev, a head of Potato Growing Institute ( Belarus National Academy of Science) to media services when commenting on a 2006-2010 development project.
Dedicated to  Belarus potato growing industry, the project was under disscussion at the recent Council of Ministers meeting.

Mr Banadysev also pointed out that potato waste had been  used as biofuel when it was dirty cheap. "At present the processing is not economically rational, because of high production expenses". This reason made the government give up the idea of potato processing in the nearest future.
