Investments in chemical and petrochemical industries of Belarus in 2006-2010 will make USD 3.5 bln

Victor Plotnikov, the chief of an innovative section of Department of perspective development of concern "Belneftekhim" said at the seminar "Innovative technologies of creation of new chemicals and materials" (which took place as a part of the exhibition "Chemistry. Oil. Gas") that it is supposed to invest 3.5 billion dollars in chemical and petrochemical industries of Belarus in 2006-2010.

In particular, the Polymir company will build plants manufacturing propylene and monoethyleneglycol;  a complex for production of nitrogen fertilizers will be created at Grodno Azot, it is planned also to update ammoniac workshops and to construct a polyamide unit there. At Belaruskaliy Production Association the construction of Krasnoslobodsky mine and development of Starobinsky deposit of potash salts will continue. Besides, non-woven canvas for the medical and hygienic purposes, high-strength technical fibres will be procuced in the country. It is planned as well to update manufacturing units of polyamide threads, cord tissue and capron fabric. According to V.Plotnikov, the production output of the plants belonging to the   Belneftekhim concern should grow up by 55%  till 2010.
