Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov signed a relevant resolution with a view to increasing yields of wheat, cotton and other crops in Turkmenistan. According to the document, the Ministry of agriculture of Turkmenistan is authorized to sign a contract with Globe Interstar AG (Switzerland) for the supply of "Roundup 36%" chemical worth US 1,998 mln. The company was picked as a result of tender for the purchase of chemicals to protect crops from weed and equipment for seed cleaning. The resolution also authorizes Turkmengallaonumlery bread products association to sign a contract with IP Consalt International (Gibraltar) for the supply of 61 seed cleaning installations and spare parts for them amounting to US $ 2,0 mln.
