Bitumen and Polymer-Bitumen Binders: Topical Issues

In April 2015, SIBUR and Gazprom Neft held the 4^th interbranch conference “Bitumen and polymer-bitumen binders: topical issues 2015” devoted to some problems of using bitumens and polymer-bitumen binders in road construction. Polymer-bitumen binders  are materials on the basis of traditional bitumens with the addition of styrene-butadiene-styrene type polymers and a plasticiser. Polymer-bitumen binders in comparison with conventional bitumen have better properties: higher impact resistance, improved properties under low and high temperatures and better ageing resistance. More than 200 representatives of state establishments, producers and consumers of bitumen and polymer-bitumen binders used in road construction took part in the event.
