Production of Ammonium Sulphate in Russia and Ukraine
Ammonium sulphate, (NH4)2SO4, is a white, soluble, crystalline salt having a formula wt of 132.14. The crystals have a rhombic structure; d204 is 1.769. According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, the domestic output of ammonium sulphate in 2012 amounted to 1,368,000 tonnes, which is a 1.8% YOY decrease as compared to 2011, when it made up 1,393,000 tonnes. The Ukrainian manufacture of ammonium sulphate in 2012 went down 57.3%, to 69,800 tonnes, compared to 164,300 tonnes in 2011.
